Maintenance & Care

Proper care and regular cleaning can help keep your Kiki Cabinetry cabinets looking beautiful and performing well for years to come. Follow the guidelines below when cleaning and caring for your cabinets.

Regular Cleaning

For regular dusting, use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use a mild dishwashing liquid mixed with warm water.

Wipe the cabinet surfaces gently with the solution, then use a clean, soft cloth to remove any remaining moisture. Avoid leaving water or cleaning solution sitting on the cabinet surface.

Spills

Clean spills and splatters as soon as possible. Food, water, oil, grease, and other liquids can affect the cabinet finish if they remain on the surface for an extended period.

After cleaning a spill, wipe the area dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Glass Doors

Take extra care when cleaning cabinets with glass doors.

Use an ammonia-free glass cleaner and apply it to a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel rather than spraying the cleaner directly onto the glass.

Avoid allowing cleaning products or moisture to seep behind the glass or into the door frame, as this may cause damage.

Scratches

Minor scratches, nicks, or other surface marks may sometimes be addressed with an appropriate color-matched touch-up product.

For deeper scratches or damage, contact Kiki Cabinetry for guidance before attempting a repair. Always follow the instructions provided with any touch-up or repair product.

Products to Avoid

Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaning products on your cabinets. These may damage the finish or leave scratches on the surface.

Products to avoid include:

  • Abrasive cleaners, scouring powders, and scouring pads
  • Steel wool or other rough cleaning materials
  • Harsh detergents or strong soaps
  • Self-polishing waxes
  • Products containing ammonia
  • Products containing bleach
  • Rough or dirty sponges and cloths that may scratch the surface or contain cleaning residue

When in doubt, use a mild cleaning solution and a clean, soft cloth.

Moisture, Heat & Light Damage

Avoid Moisture Damage: Do not leave damp towels, dishcloths, or other wet materials hanging over cabinet doors or surfaces. Prolonged exposure to moisture can affect the cabinet finish and may cause damage or discoloration.

Clean up water and other liquids promptly and keep cabinet surfaces dry.

Avoid Heat Damage: Excessive heat can damage cabinet finishes. Take care when using ovens, especially when using high-heat or self-cleaning settings.

Make sure heat and steam are properly vented and do not escape directly toward cabinet doors, panels, or other cabinetry surfaces.

Avoid Light Damage: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can affect the appearance and color of wood and painted cabinet finishes.

Where possible, use blinds, curtains, or other window coverings to reduce direct sunlight exposure and help protect your cabinets from fading or color changes.
